Clos de la Néore is probably the most sought-after wine in the Sancerre appellation. The vines are planted on Kimmeridge marl, a stratigraphic subsoil dating back from Late Jurassic. This clay and limestone soil is rich in seashells and fossils which provides a mineral salinity on the palate. It shows white stone fruit, citrus fruit as well as a pebbly crystalline dimension.
