95pts Wine Advocate
"Looking at the 2011s from bottle, the straight Cote Rotie is a knockout effort that has soaring aromas of underbrush, herbed game, green coffee beans and white pepper to go with black cherry and blackberry-styled fruit. Medium to full-bodied, textured and layered, with fantastic precision and focus in the vintage, it should continue to shine through 2026. Another bastillion of traditional winemaking, Jean-Paul Jamet fashions two Cote Roties from his roughly 17 acres of vines, located mostly on the schist soils in the northern part of the appellation. The winemaking here includes very little destemming, pump overs as opposed to punch downs, and aging in a combination of demi-muid and barrel, with roughly 15% new. (JD) " (12/2013)
